 eye catching accent! flea find: 1. sweater (look for Christmas colors) other materials: 1. tracing paper 2. fabric marking pen 3. covered button kit 4. scissor, needle, and thread directions: 1. trace a stocking shape pattern on tracing paper and cut out 2. turn sweater inside out, align top edge of stocking pattern with bottom edge of sweater (makes a finished edge for the stocking opening) 3. use fabric marking pen to draw a line around pattern. Do NOT cut out stocking 4. carefully sew pieces together directly on the drawn line to join the stocking 5. leaving a 1/4" seam allowance, cut out shape (clip at curves and corners) Turn stocking right side out 6. for hanger, cut a 3/4" X 6 1/2" piece from a remaining scrap. matching right sides and long edges, fold piece in half; sew along long edge. turn right side out. matching short, raw edges with heel seam of stocking, sew hanger to stocking. 7. follow package instuctions to cover buttons with scraps. sew buttons to the stocking. tip: chic recycler "flea finds" are found throughout the fleatique house  ask Lee (the flea) for a "flea find" not found in our house! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
