These rather odd looking devices were designed to help postal workers and office clerks keep their collection of rubber stamps organized and close at hand. Early carousels were made from cast iron, and eventually were replaced by mass-produced aluminum models. By the 1970’s, self-inking stamps were used extensively, and stamp carousels were no longer a necessary office supply.
