flea finds:

1. vintage lined table runner 1.50 times window width

note: (lined runner works best because the wrong side will show when the ends fall into folds)

some runners have tassles or beads on the ends for a festive or formal look





other materials:

1. curtain rings

2. needle / thread

3. scissors





directions:

1. reserve app 12in. on each end (forms a swag)

2. divide the rest of the runner into equal increments, spacing app 8-12 inches apart

3. hand-stitch a large drapery ring at each mark

4. slide the rings over the rod to hang the valance in place

5. space the runner along the rod so it drapes gently between the rings
