![]() functional! flea find: 1. vintage fabric 3/8 yard 45"-wide 2. wooden hanger 3. 1 1/2 yd 1/2"-wide ribbon 4. muslin or sheeting other materials: 1. 1 package quilt batting 2. masking tape 3. thread 4. needle 5. scissor 6. pins 7. 20oz-size rug and room deodorizer directions: 1. using two layers of batting, each 6" wide X 18" long, find center of batting and punch through hanger hook to start. 2. wrap batting around the wooden part of hanger and tape to fasten. Trim, and stitch ends closed 3. cut a strip of muslin 2 1/2" wide X 17" long; fold over and stitch on one side, leaving open in center; insert rug and room deodorizer. stitch opening closed. attach muslin pouch to the underside of the hanger. wrap another layer of batting over it and secure with tape. 4. stitch the raw ends of batting together, making sure the batting is secure on the hanger and will not shift when inserted into the fabric covering 5. from fabric, cut two pieces = 11" X 5", and two pieces, each 22" X 5". stitch one basting line along the 22" side. gather the sides to measure 11". 6. with right sides TOGETHER, pin or baste evenly gathered piece to ungathered piece, then stitch, leaving one 5" side unstitched. clip corners. Repeat for the two remaining pieces of fabric. turn both pieces right side out. 7. slip one fabric tube on each side of the hanger. turn the raw edges under so that the edges of the tubes just meet. 8. tack the fabric together at the top and bottom of the hanger. stitch together all around ungathered bottom part. 9. using 1/2 yard of ribon, tape one end to the tip of the wire hook and wrap, covering the metal completely. slip-stitch the end of the ribbon securely at the base of the hook and then to fabric on hanger. 10. fold 1 yard of ribbon in half and place the fold around the base of the wire hook. wrap the ribbon around the hanger in two parallel bands, returning to the starting point. wrap the two ends around the wire hook, crisscrossing them behind the hook and returning them to the front of the hook. tie a bow and stitch to fasten. tip: chic recycler "flea finds" are found throughout the fleatique house ![]() ask Lee (the flea) for a "flea find" not found in our house!
