 let there be.............light! flea find: 1. 25 yards 5/8" slightly translucent ribbon other materials: 1. C lampshade frame / available at Shades from the Midnight Sun 914-779-7237 2. sewing shears 3. needle & thread 4. straight pins directions: 1. starting from inside of top ring of frame with ribbon facing wrong side out, fold 1/2" of one end of ribbon over ring and handstitch tightly to itself, with short end outward. Trim end to 1/4" 2. holding frame against you with ribbon facing out, tightly wrap ribbon down inside of frame, around bottom ring, and back up to overlap stitched piece halfway. continue wrapping tightly in one direction so that ribbon overlaps itself evenly a quarter width at the bottom, a half width at top. (if you run out of ribbon partway around, stitch a new piece onto the old inside the shade near the top.) 3. when frame is covered, loop ribbon once more around and pull taunt from inside of frame, fastening with pin at the bottom. cut ribbon an inch below shade; fold excess up and stitch in place to inside of shade. tip: chic recycler "flea finds" are found throughout the fleatique house  ask Lee (the flea) for a "flea find" not found in our house!
